Winter

Dear Ones, 

It looks like I will be having a whirlwind tour of social activities in the next couple of months what with my trips to the ENT and the Cardiologist.  If I didn't go to the doctors, I wouldn't go anywhere much at all.  I have to travel 70 miles to the city where my specialists practice.  While there we get to go shopping and to lunch--usually Chinese.  An all you can eat buffet!  And the drive is beautiful---canyons, mountains and rolling hills.

There is always the extra added thrill of the weather and so far it has been perfect for our trips.  But suspense is still there as storms can blow in fast and there have been times when the roads have been closed  because of ice and snow.  There are long stretches of hiway without houses or towns to go to in case of emergencies.   And then the road construction offers any number of surprises as we are rerouted for short distances along the way.  That wasn't too bad tho so no complaints there.

I am about as ready for Christmas as I am going to get.  I came home from the store the other day and there was a huge box on my front porch from my daughter!  These kids---I never know what they are gonna do next.  They are so kind and generous to me---both of them.

We have snow in the forecast.  I just looked out and it is clear as a bell.  Sigh!  We could sure use the moisture---guess that is an neverending lament in drought stricken areas.

The cats are fine---ornery sometimes.  They stay in a lot when it is cold and they get cranky and fight a bit.  I have to keep the water bottle handy to give them a spritz when they act up. 

I am about finished going thru stuff and I am so  glad.  This was a bigger job than I realized it was gonna be---guess I would have done it anyway tho.   And I still have lots of stuff--projects to work on that I need and want to complete.  The others I will sneak out to donate somewhere or give away or deposit in the dumpster!!!   Some things I have tried just didn't work at all.
